On 2 September the Hon. Catherine King, Federal Member for Ballarat visited the Ballarat campus of the Berry Street School for a tour.
Catherine has strong links with community service agencies having spent 5 years as a social worker with Ballarat Children’s Homes and Family Services from 1988 to 1992. She's the current Shadow Minister for Infrastructure, Transport and Regional Development, having previously been the Shadow Minister for Health.
Catherine spent the afternoon with Assistant Principal, Damian McKee, discussing the challenges faced by the Berry Street School in the Ballarat education space. Catherine offered many avenues of support for the school community, including the opportunity to access up to $20,000 funding in the Local School Community Funding application process.
